Supine cervical sidebending

Note the arthritic changes that occur at the front and the back of
the neck bones (the front is the left while the back in the right - for
both pictures).
Bending the neck forward tends to open the spaces at the back of
the neck while bending backwards tends to close these spaces
down.
Nerves normally occupy these spaces.
We advise our patients to avoid back bending their necks -
especially if you know you have arthritic changes in your neck.
